I goofed

We participated in a sheep-to-shawl competition at the Pennsylvania Farm Show this past Wednesday and got home late. Early Thursday morning (and I mean really early … my blog obligations seem to weigh heavily on me) I began work on a magnum post concerning our adventure. Due to the lack of sleep I inadvertently clicked Publish when I meant to click Preview … and the unfinished post surged on to the web and each of my dedicated followers was notified of the underdone presentation – my sincere apologies. I quickly changed the status of the post to Draft and continued to work for several more hours after which I clicked Publish once again. Apparently followers did not get a second notification directing them to this now completed post. Please, either click here to see the finished post or simply scroll down to view it. Thanks much.

The crowd cheered on eight teams at this year's competition.

  1. I thought the post was perfect. I didn’t notice. ‘-) I empathize. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve done the same thing. I’m chuckling here! No harm done.

  2. That was STUNNING! Congrats to all, I would have loved to have been there. Truly an art, the pressure must be so intense. Well done, team, well done!

    • Thanks … I’ll pass the word along to Joanna. The team members always are sure to say that they do this just to have fun … but somehow they each manage to get themselves worked up over the proceedings. It is pretty high pressure … especially toward the end. Points are awarded for speed. The first team off the loom gets 10 bonus points (8 for second, 6 for third, and so on). Plying takes extra time but also earns the team a few points. There’s always a balancing act between weaving singles and plying and getting off the loom first and getting off third or fourth. The knots which attach the warp to the loom are what one watches for as a signal that the end is near … in the case of the Dream Weavers those knots took an eternity to show. They finally did and I could relax. Thanks for all of your interest in and attention to the sheep-to-shawl posts … it makes taking the pictures and working on the composition worth while. D (and J)

    • Ha. How stupid I feel! And, you know … it was really unfortunate because followers didn’t receive a second notification … so all they saw was the in-progress post and never the final version. Seems like WordPress would have recalled the initial post once I changed its status. It’s easy for me to say, I know nothing about web design or programming … just seems to make good sense that there should be someway to recover from a mistaken click of the publish button. Thanks for letting me know that I’m not the only once to have done this … nice to know I’ve got company. D

  3. LOL! I noticed that! No worries, the pics still conveyed the flow of the day perfectly. Congrats to Joanna and her team!
